Hearing God's Voice - November 7th, 2010

For many of my years as a Christian, I had no idea that you could hear His voice. It is only in the last 7 years that I have become very aware of God's voice and like any relationship, it is easier to hear a voice when you are close and have cultivated intimacy.

Over the next few weeks at Boloco church we will be looking at how to hear God's voice. This is an essential area for all Christians and as James says (James 4:8) "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you". The essential point here is that we need to spend time drawing near to him.

The presentation from the Sunday meeting can be viewed as a pdf file on the following link (simply right click on the file and open it in a new window on your web browser). The message from Sunday morning also can be listened to by going to the Listen tab of this site and then Sunday Talks.

Hello Sisters and Brothers at Boloco,
The series about intimacy with God and listening to his voice sounds very exciting and challenging. I am looking forward to sharing with you on Sunday 28th November. The love our Heavenly Father will be revealed in the still small voice as we individually and as a community draw closer to his wonderful plan and purpose.
One of the best things we can do to prepare for hearing God better is be sure to be open to the Spirit as we read the Bible. Hearing and following the written word of God is foundational to knowing and discerning the Spirit's voice.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all

But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are, so that no one might boast in the presence of God. 1 Cor 1:27-29
